Count Your Many Blessings

Sometimes all it takes to get out of a somber mood is counting your many blessings. The start of a despondent mood typically begins when I compare my journey of where I am now to where I want to be. My advice, don't compare your process with someone else's, this will lead to discouragement. When this occurs, I challenge myself to reflect on how far God has carried me. The honest truth is, He brought me out of a wilderness. There was a time I was stuck in a place where I had an insatiable void and God came in to restore me. I had this igniting desire to know God on a deeper level, He fulfilled this desire. God never places desires on the heart without an intent to fulfill them. I want to challenge you to pause for a few minutes a day and count your blessings. This is guaranteed to lighten your mood. Try starting off your day reflecting on God's grace, you might not be where you want to be, but know God is not finished with you yet. Know you are in a better place than where you previously were. Keep your head up, strive to make God proud. Serve through love. Expressing love will make you feel whole.
