If we learned anything in this life it is that people are fickle. Saying one thing one day and doing the complete opposite the next day. Many of us make false expectations to ourselves. We try and limit our use of social media, we make new year resolutions to exercise daily then fall short of that reality. We attempt cutting back on sugar just to substitute it with another snack. We are quick to point a finger at others who fall short in those areas but forget we are guilty of the same things.
One area we rarely fall short in is extending grace on our behalf, when we fail to meet our expectations we nonchalantly let it slide. We struggle to extend that same level of grace to the ones who desperately need it. We stumble and fall over our daily actions yet quickly forget the grace God shows us. We so easily become entangled in judging others decisions but forget how God never judged us when we were in the same predicament as our offenders.
We make the mistake of placing people on high pedestals, expecting them to be superhero's when in reality they are battling their own inconveniences. We forget we can not place our faith and hope in people because they will certainly fail us. I challenge you to put your faith and hope in the ONE who is faithful, to the ONE who does not judge, to the ONE who loves you the same through all your good and bad days. Men will fail you but God will restore you.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever." ~Hebrew 13:8
