There is beauty in silence. I am guilty of spending too much time behind my laptop, phone, social media, etc and not enough time appreciating the beauty of sitting in silence. I know you are probably thinking how can you find time to sit in silence when I have this hectic schedule. Look at it as a form of self care.
I want to encourage you to take time out of your day even if its fifteen minutes to sit in complete silence, don't think, just allow your mind to be still. I prefer to take this time out in the morning, I set my alarm about an hour earlier than usual and meditate on thoughts that uplift me. When I tell you.. this is beyond therapeutic. It sets the tone for the day. I challenge myself to do this daily because I spend too much time focusing on the future and miss out on the gift of being present.
The truth is, life comes with all types of cluster. Sometimes too much cluster that leads to unnecessary stress. Lets save ourselves from stress by sorting out our priorities. Lets make a commitment to tackle our "To do" list at the top of the day. This alleviates stress because it gives a peace of mind knowing the priorities are taken care of. Many times I fail to take time out for silence which takes my mind in an area of distractions. Stressful distractions with minor details that are completely irrelevant.
I challenge you to pause, take a moment to let your mind be still, if this is too difficult start with thinking on thoughts that are positive. It is possible, don't trick yourself into believing otherwise. Together, lets be intentional about taking time out to give our minds space to relax.
