You are accepted for who you are not for what you do, the American culture brain washes us into believing we are not accepted until we get the right job, until we have the perfect family, the perfect husband/wife a great education so on and so forth. But for many people, they struggle with voids even after they marry, find the dream career and are financially stable. Ever think we have the wrong idea of what "Success" looks like? your story is not over yet.
I am here to tell you, you are accepted for who you are and not what you do or accomplish. We sometimes fall into the trap of thinking we are worthless unless we are drowning ourselves in work. I will tell you that working 24/7 does not define your worth, degrees do not define your worth and the perfect house and car certainly do not define your worth. Those are just few of many things that cover up what we are facing on the inside of our hearts and minds.
You are accepted and appreciated for who you ARE and not what you DO. We go back and forth struggling to find our niche in life but what comes after we achieve everything we want and still feel the void? There is more to life than having a successful career.
If nobody told you today I want to tell you that you are loved and appreciated for who you are, yes you. Flaws and all, you are valuable and precious just the way you are. We often think because of the mess going on in our life there is no way out. Then we run to find fulfillment or fill that void but sometimes we run to the wrong places and cope in unhealthy ways.
I am here to tell you, if you feel like you are at an all time low place in your life right now, there is hope on the other side. Keep hanging on. Do not give up.
Take that risk you need, find that community you been longing for, reconcile with that long lost friend, take time out for yourself, take time off from work. Do what you need to keep out of that low place of your life. Speak positivity over your life.
Get back on your feet, you got this!
"God sees each of us much differently then we see ourselves; Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1Samuel 16:7
Great post and very true.Thank for the reminder that God looks at the inside and loves us regardless so we don't have to conform to the world's view of success!
