Unlearn It!

One of the hardest parts about unlearning poor habits is making a conscious decision to withhold from them. For instance, if you are a pessimist seeking to draw forth positive energy you have to be willing to make a few changes. It starts with a choice. Take it from me, years ago it was easy for me to believe something negative about myself than something positive. Anytime someone complimented me I found reasons why the compliment was not true. I heard this saying before and I will say it again. We are our own biggest enemy. Unlearning negative patterns begins with diligence. We all want a positive outcome but what matters is what we do to produce change. It starts within, there was a time I used to wake up to my thoughts scrambling in a million different directions. It drove me crazy, I desperately wanted to find peace in the midst of this circumstance. The truth is, peace was always there I just needed help tapping into it. I started by aligning my thoughts with what is true. My issue was dwelling on the past and future. I learned to manage my battles of the mind by willingly meditating on the present moment. I can only handle what is occurring now. I can't control what happens in the future. Changing my negative thought pattern came with much diligence, my issue was dwelling on too many things at once.


If this is one of your negative patters I want to challenge you to mediate on this verse daily. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow. For tomorrow will worry about it's own things. Sufficient for the day is its own troubles~ Matthew 6:34"
